The short version: All of your workout data stays on your device — we do not collect, store, transmit, sell, or share any personal information. The only time the app uses the internet is when you tap an article in the Learn section, which opens that web page in an in-app browser. We don't send your workout data anywhere, and we don't track what you read.
This Privacy Policy describes how Stake: Take Care ("the App", "we") handles information when you use the App on your iOS device. We designed the App with privacy as a core principle: it is a gym and workout tracker that requires no account and no sign-in, and that stores all of your data locally. The App works offline; the optional Learn section opens curated articles from the web in an in-app browser.
None. The App does not collect any data about you. Specifically, the App does not collect:
The App requests camera access only when you choose to take a progress photo, and uses the system photo picker to let you import an existing photo. The photo picker runs outside the App and shares only the single image you select. The App does not browse, scan, or upload your photo library, and all photos you add stay on your device (see Section 3).
Everything you enter into the App — workouts, exercises, sets, weights, progress, settings, and any progress photos you add — is stored locally on your device only. Progress photos are saved as image files in the App's private storage; they are never uploaded or shared anywhere. This data:
The App contains no analytics SDKs, no advertising networks, no social media integrations, and no third-party tracking of any kind. It does not send your data to any server.
The Learn section links to articles hosted by reputable third parties (for example Mayo Clinic, Harvard Health, the NHS, and the American Heart Association), and the "Learn the form" button opens a web search. These pages are opened in an in-app browser provided by Apple (SafariViewController). When you open one, your device connects directly to that website, and that website — and the search provider — will see standard request information such as your IP address, subject to their own privacy policies. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content or practices.
All core features of the App — logging workouts, exercises, sets, progress, and settings — work fully offline and make no network requests.
The App accesses the internet only when you choose to open an article or form guide in the Learn section. No personal or workout data is transmitted when you do so; only the request needed to load the web page you tapped is made, directly by your device to the destination site. We do not log, store, or track which articles you open.
Because the App collects no data from anyone, it collects no data from children, and complies with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and similar regulations by design. Note that the Learn section links out to third-party websites whose content we do not control; we recommend a parent or guardian supervise younger users when browsing external links.
Privacy regulations such as the GDPR (EU) and CCPA (California) grant you rights over your personal data — including access, correction, deletion, and portability. Since we hold no data about you, there is nothing for us to access, correct, share, or delete. You have full control: your data lives on your device, and deleting the App removes it entirely.
If we ever change how the App handles data — for example, by adding an online feature — we will update this Privacy Policy and revise the "Last updated" date above before any such change takes effect.
